A white paper describing connectivity technologies for leveraging DER assets on the distribution grid

 

ABSTRACT: Distributed energy resources (DERs) are becoming an integral part of the electrical distribution grid.  Unmanaged, they present significant challenges for utility grid resiliency, power quality, and load balancing.  Fortunately, technologies are emerging that enable DER assets to be leveraged to enhance grid reliability, while introducing a myriad of new opportunities for managing distributed load.  Gaining access to these distributed assets is key to realizing these benefits.
